Early June

Paris: Early June

Imagine you live in an urban loft with an open kitchen, your famous chef friend is on the pass, you invite all your best buddies, open bottles of wine and then crank the music. No wonder the talk of the town and the place to be right now is Victor Vautier & Camille Machet’s standing room only wine bar – Early June. For just over a year, they’ve been hosting world chefs as a “pop up” concept in their pretty resto-natural wine bar just off the Canal St Martin. The Owners are polished hospitality pros; creating a youthful DJ-dinner party vibe during service, while each chef-in-residence brings their own style using seasonal French product from the open kitchen. Menus are a la carte and change weekly and wines are chosen just as carefully as the food – only low-intervention dependent wine producers are on offer. Walk-in’s only with reservations for groups 4+.

Vibe + Crowd + Decor

Chill energy and minimalist white washed walls. Open kitchen with visiting chefs on the pass. Young 20-40 somethings around farmhouse tables (on the terrace and inside) sharing a la carte plates and bottles of wine, to Victor’s playlist. Everyone feels welcome and like family.

When to Go:

Its a walk-ins only guessing game. When the doors open at 6pm there is a queue and the tables of more than 4 people already reserved. Unless you want to be there by 5pm (brutal) give those starting at 6pm a chance to get seated and into their meal for an hour and then go, let them know you are waiting… but if the tables of 4+ reserved for 8pm it could be fully booked. Timing is everything.
